Totally TV!

My friend’s husband has turned her house into the house from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation! Watch out Griswald’s! I found it hilarious as this is one of my favorite holiday movies. If you haven’t watched it yet this season you better catch up, I’ve already seen it twice!!! This movie is so funny there’s not even a way to pick the best part! One fo my favorite’s though is when Chevy Chase is talking to his niece at the table and she’s talking about her brother being nervous about Santa coming. She says “he’s shitting bricks” and Chevy Chase says “you shouldn’t say that” and she says “sorry shitting rocks” it cracks me up every time! What’s your favorite part?

This is my favorite time of year and we always watch ABC’s 25 days of Christmas! They have a new Christmas movie every night. Tonight it is The Grinch with Jim Carey. The girls like this movie, but I love the cartoon Grinch so much more than the movie. Although Jim Carey does make a perfect Grinch lol.

They have a ton of Christmas shows this year, but I want to highlight a few that I don’t want to miss!

7pm (EST) Mickey’s Christmas Carol…. This is my all time favorite Christmas cartoon. I have watched it every year since I was a kid and I won’t miss it this year either!

7:30pm (EST) Winnie the Pooh and Christmas too…. I’m a huge Disney fan so I’ll be watching this one too. Although, I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen it.

There’s nothing like the original Christmas classics either. Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph, and Santa Claus is coming to Town are all highlights on ABE Family this month so check them out!

Tonight on ABC Family is The Dennis the Menace Christmas! I’m so excited to watch it. I’ve never seen it before and it will really take me back to my child hood. The cutest boy ever, but he’s always in trouble. Poor Mr. Wilson gets to witness most of the trouble and everyone else thinks Dennis is the sweetest boy ever! From a cartoon strip, to a black and white TV show, to movies, Dennis is a classic and definitely one you can’t miss!

Do you all remember years ago there was a Dennis the Menace cartoon on TV. Back when they really used to have Saturday morning cartoons. I loved it. Tonight’s movie will be a great one to watch with your family. I’m sure Dennis will be bothering Mr. Wilson so much he will be the biggest Grinch ever! So sit back and enjoy after all the Christmas season is here!

Horrible reports this weekend confirmed the murders of Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother in their Chicago home. Her mother, Darnell Donerson was 57 and her brother, Jason Hudson was 29. Jennifer’s 7 year old nephew was missing. Police and FBI were working around the clock to find the little boy and Ms. Hudson had even offered a $100,000 reward to bring her nephew home.

Unfortunately announced today, the police have confirmed that the body of a boy found in an SUV is Jennifer’s nephew.  Julian King was described as a happy go lucky kid. He enjoyed spending time with his grandmother. Hudson often returned to Chicago to visit her family and was said to be very close to her mother. Their family has dealt with many hard blows since the begining of last weekend and my prayer among many others are with them.

 Last night I watched a early premier for Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew’s 2nd season. I have to say it was very interesting. Celebrity Rehab will premier Thursday, October 23, 2008 at 10pm on VH1. NOTICE: The remainder of this post does have spoilers!

The first one to arrive is Gary Bussey. This guy is crazy. He is supposed to be on the show to strengthen his sobriety (like Daniel Baldwin last season) and share experiences with other people. BUT also to learn from them. He believes he is one of the staff and cannot understand he’s a patient. It’s pretty comical throughout the show even the other patients are laughing at this and he ends up telling Dr. Drew that if he has to be a patient he can’t do the show. Never-mind the fact that he still smokes pot!

Amber Smith was a supermodel in the 90’s and she got hooked on pills. She has been using for 16 years, very low key, because she says in the 90’s it was not cool for a super model to be a drug addict. She uses with her mom and has a great dependency on this relationship. Hers will be a hard struggle, but she seems nice and I hope she makes it.

It surprised me that Steven Adler was going to be on the show and also that he’s still alive actually. Most people will remember Steven Adler as the original drummer for band Guns-n-Roses. Alder, was kicked out of the band in the early 90’s as a result of his drug addiction. He also had a stroke in 1996 the result from a powerful speed-ball (heroine and cocaine) He came to the Pasadena Recovery Center from 9 days of hospital detox and was in very bad shape. He lives in the past and is still extremely mad at Slash for hiring another drummer.

Sean Stewart is the son of 80’s singer Rod Stewart and known in Hollywood as a bad boy. He was on reality TV show, Sons of Hollywood, and has been in and out of treatment centers 9 or 10 times for his drug addiction. To me he doesn’t seem very serious about kicking his habit. He’s still young and a don’t believe grasps the danger of the things he does. He blamed relapses on hanging out with his friends so apparently he’s not strong enough to find other friends. We’ll see what happens and I do wish him the best.

Twany Kitaen, best known for starring in the movie Bachelor Party with Tom Hanks, is also joining the cast. She has been clean from coke use for 2 years, but is still on sleeping pills that are addictive. She seems like a strong person and I hope she gets past this.

Nikki McKibben, former American Idol finalist, is one I feel sorry for. She has a severe alcohol addiction. She also is a coke addict and has a past history of physical and sexual abuse. To top it all off she did coke with her mom one night and then her mother went home and took her normal medication and died. I think she blames herself for this and is going to have a long road to travel.

Rodney King has had a hard life. I really felt for him. Historical figure Rodney King became known to the public after LA police bruitaly beat him on camera. The police who beat him were aquitted and thus began mass riots throughout LA. Now years later Mr. King is a severe alcohol who claims if you aren’t drunk by 10 am you are not human. He doesn’t really mention the tragic event, however, I believe this is a man with a lot of hurt inside and he’s drinking it all away. I hope Dr Drew can help him so he can lead a better life.

Our favorite couple is back! Jeff Conway is back in rehab after numerous back surgery and pain pills is ready to get clean. I really hope he does it this time, compared to last season he looks great. Also, his live in girlfriend Vicki has enlisted Dr. Drew’s help to kick her habit because they got into a fight and she attacked Jeff kicking him numerous time in the back while they were high on coke. Dr. Drew has offered Vicki help but to her dismay she will not be with Jeff they have to be separated while in rehab. Good choice Dr. Drew!

This seems to be the start of an interesting season and I can’t wait to see more!

What a way to start off the season! When the girls first arrive, they are standing outside the bus waiting to greet their host, when a limo pulls up. Who steps out of the limo? Not Sharon Osbourne, but Lacey! What a spoiled brat!

Sharon Osbourne comes out of the house and tells the girls that there is a bed upstairs assigned to each of them. Of course they room the people who hate eachother together. Will there be enough room for Lacey and Dallas to share the same bunk? Will Heather strangle Megan and Brandi C.?  My guess is it will be a wild ride!

They meet downstairs and of course start drinking. Brandy M. is being very sneaky making all of the girls drinks and only sneaking water herself! She’s a little more conniving than I thought. It doesn’t take long though, as soon as Dallas walks outside Lacey grabs her butt and a fight breaks out. Dallas hits Lacey in the head with an apple and makes herself look like the bad guy.

Courtney once again drinks too much and falls off her chair! What’s with this girls really? Looks like she will miss yet another elimination. Raven tries to befriend Dallas since she is the only other black girl in the house. Raven makes herself look horrible! She thinks she is better than everyone and smarter than everyone. She even goes as far as to tell Jessica, who works for NASA, that she doesn’t have much going on upstairs! This sets off yet another argument. I mean really why did Raven even show up? Not only did she not want to be there, she didn’t even make it long on Rock of Love to begin with.

Sharon calls all of the girls in the house to enroll them officially in Charm School. They show small clips of the girl’s most outrageous behavior and the girls are to then shred the DVD. Courtney can’t even walk and Sharon has Destiny and Jessica help her to bed and sleep it off. Flashbacks anyone?

Later, they are told they will have their first elimination. Who will go home. The girls go upstairs and put on their Charm School uniforms and poor drunk Courtney is still passed out! However, she does pull herself together enough to make it down to the elimination so she’s already starting off better than she did on Rock of Love 2! In thebeginning of  the elimination ceremony Raven tells the truth. Or what she thinks is the truth. She’s too good to be there and way too smart. She’s the biggestnarcissist I have ever seen!

Raven left the show, but she made the choice to leave so guess what? There’s still one more to go. Lacey, Dallas, and Courtney are called to the chopping block. They explain it is for Lacey and Dallas fighting and of course Courtney’s drinking. In the end Sharon decides that Courtney doesn’t belong in Charm School, however, they will be sending her to rehab! Good choice Sharon that chick needs it!

Will Sharon be able to whip these hard core girls into shape? Will Brandi C. realize her pink hair looks like shit? How long will it take for Kristy Joe to cry? Who will be kicked off next and who will come out of Charm School alive! Stay tuned to find out!

Victory is trying to move forward with Rodrigo, but finds Joe Bennett around every corner. He even brings a new designer Tatiana to her store presumably to make her jealous. Victory shows some tension that Rodrigo notices and tells her that they need a break. Meanwhile her assistant tells her that she shouldn’t be dating a contractor and fixes Victory up on a date without her knowledge. At the restaurant opening with this new date she runs into Tatiana and Joe Bennett. She tells Joe that she is over him and he needs to move on with his life. After leaving the restaurant she heads over to her shop to find Rodrigo and tells him she knows what she wants and it’s him. Her and Rodrigo have sex for the first time after Victory covers the shop camera. Joe Bennett drops Tatiana off and tells his assistant to extend his trip to London.

Nico is hesitant when it comes to her relationship with Kirby. She doesn’t want people to see them out together yet and when they run into someone she knows, she introduces him as someone’s assistant. The new boss Griffin puts Nico on the line when he tells her to write an apology editorial to a group she offended in an ad. When she writes something a little more than an apology Mike emails it to Griffin. Griffin thinks it will stir up controversy and posts it online. Nico hints that thier job is a “sinking ship” and she’s looking for other jobs. When Mike tells her he’s had a job offer he’s accepted she tells him she’s staying! Nico confesses to Kirby she’s nervous because she doen’t know where things are going and he’s ok with it. She decides they will go to dinner at a very public place.

Wendy is floored when she finds out her friend Noah has died on set and when a worker finds pills in his trailer they know he was on chemo. Griffin talks to Sal about forging the insurance papers and then tells Wendy he is going to sue Noah’s family for the money it has cost the company. Wendy feels guilty since she was the one who signed the form and admits it to Griffin who then fires her. Thinking she could save her job by talking to Hector she leaves numerous messages only to have Hector’s assistant return the call and tell her he stands by Griffin’s termination.

Will Wendy pick herself up after this? Will Victory and Rodrigo’s relationship destroy Joe? Will Nico and Kirby’s relationship last? There’s more to this story so stay tuned!

Nico mourns Charles. Wendy calls and asks her what they are having for lunch and if she can come to dinner. Nico declines saying she’s been spending way too much time with Wendy. When Nico is making soup for herself, Kirby stops by. He said he just couldn’t stay away. He comes in and they finish making soup.

Wendy is determined to help an old actor friend. Her friend that is starring in her upcoming movie hasn’t been showing up. She assumes he’s on drug and meets with him. She tells him they will push production 2 months and he needs to get into rehab. He tells her to just get another actor he can’t do the movie. Later, his wife visits Wendy at work and tells her that he is dying and he really wants to make this film. Wendy puts her job on the line when she fakes his physical and tells her assistant they begin filming right away. Unfortunately, she has to tell her assistant the truth when he questions the actor’s physical report.

Victory is confused about what has been going on with her assistant. She tells Nico that she knew he had a relationship with some named Chris, but she couldn’t figure out if Chris was a guy or a girl! Her assistant makes her an appointment and confuses the address, but lucky for Victory she meets her knew contractor Rodrigo. She flirts with him a lot (who wouldn’t!) and hires him to be the contractor for her business. Joe Bennett is jealous when he sees the interactions between the two.

Kirby takes Nico to a club and it turns out to be “swap night” This means when the gong sounds that you must swap clothes with complete strangers. Nico says she wants to stay and they have a great time acting like complete idiots in the club.

Megan visits Nico wanting money. She says she deserves to be kept the way Charles would have if he was alive. Angered Nico calls her lawyer and asks Megan to leave.

Victory is obsessed with Rodrigo and decided to watch the footage from her shop’s security cameras to catch glimpses of him. When she does she sees her assistant half naked and washing his hair in a bucket. He tells her that Chris took all of his money and ran. Now he’s been evicted from his apartment. Victory offers for him to live in the top floor of her building and is very relieved to finally discover that Chris is indeed a man!

Things heat up in during a New York blackout on the most recent episode of Gossip Girl.  This seems to be the week of the undeniable passion and the profession of love between the cast members.Blair is finally willing to admit that her Mr. Prince Charming isn’t all that he is cut out to be.  She tries to come on to him, when she is quickly shot down.  Although he is perfect in every other area, the fact that he hasn’t tried to come on to her is nagging.  Meanwhile, Chuck is entertaining a different woman every night; he even goes to lengths to bring in a
Tokyo whore. However, we soon discover he’s still in love with Blair. (Duh!)Meanwhile, Dan and Serena continue about their business as if no one is going to notice that they are back together.  Unable to maturely discuss their problems, they choose to ignore the past and forge ahead thinking that the physical relationship will solve everything.  It is quite unfortunate when a random girl catches a picture of the two of them making out and immediately alerts Gossip Girl.  Although, perhaps the strangest part of the episode is when Dan’s Dad shows his enthusiasm regarding their reunion…. He reads Gossip Girl????

The Duchess catches Nate and Vanessa kissing and calls her only ally Blair. Blair agrees to have Vanessa and Nate meet her so she can invite them to one of her parties. Knowing the he needs money for his family and the support the Duchess is willing to provide in exchange for favors, Nate ditches Vanessa and attends the party alone.

The lights go out on Blair’s party and Chuck takes this opportunity to hit on Blair. Vanessa catches Nate and the Duchess holding hands and confronts them. Serena and Dan are trapped in an elevator together.

The lights come back on and Marcus walks in on Blair kissing Chuck. He walks out of the room and Blair goes after him and tries to convince him she thought she was kissing him. (Yeah right!) All in all this was an interesting episode all around. Who knows who will wind up with who by the time this season is over. What do you think?
